Donate

For the Club to achieve its many worthy goals, philanthropy is essential.

Please consider supplementing your annual Club dues with a gift—at any level—to help sustain and expand our vital, student-focused initiatives as well as support other Club activities.

We encourage unrestricted gifts, as they give us the flexibility to support the priorities and funding requirements of the Club. In recent years, most contributions have been directed to the summer internship program. Alternatively, if you wish to support a specific activity with a gift, please contact us.

YCH giving clubs include:

  • Nathan Hale Club ($1,000+)

  • President’s Club ($500-$999)

  • Yale-Hartford Club ($250-$499)

  • Capital City Club ($100-$249)

We are grateful for your support!

The Club is able to accept gifts of cash, publicly-traded securities, grants from donor-advised funds (e.g., Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and Hartford Foundation for Public Giving), qualified IRA contributions, bequests, and other planned gifts. Please contact us with any questions.

Charitable Funds of the Club

Robert T. Jackson Fund

The Yale Club of Hartford created the Jackson Fund in memory of Robert T. Jackson ’39, a former president of the Phoenix Insurance Company.

The Jackson Fund’s purpose is twofold: to (1) provide scholarship aid and (2) encourage students to attend college.

Initially, the fund focused on encouraging qualified but disadvantaged students from the region to apply to Yale and supported programming to train inner-city students in test-taking skills.

More recently, the Club has used income from the Jackson Fund to underwrite summer internships for incoming Yale freshmen who live in greater Hartford.

Luncheon / Speaker Fund

This fund supports luncheons and other events, including the annual meeting.

Scholarship Fund

Income from this fund is used for grants to Yale for its scholarship fund. We generally designate as “Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford Scholars” all Hartford-area undergraduates receiving scholarships. This is typically about 20 students each year.

Frank O.H. Williams Summer Fellowship Fund

This fund supports summer internships.

Yale Book Award Fund

This fund supports the Yale Book Awards.
