The Board of Directors of the Yale Club of Hartford invites you to its annual meeting, dinner and a presentation by our special guest, Yale College Dean Marvin Chun, who will present a Yale College update.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 23, 2018. Cocktails (cash bar) at 5:30, followed by buffet dinner with dessert at 6:15, and our speaker.
Prior to Dean Chun’s presentation, the Club will conduct a brief annual meeting including the election of board members and officers. We will also hold silent and live auctions for the benefit of the Frank O.H. Williams summer internship program.
WHERE: Hartford Golf Club, 134 Norwood Road, West Hartford, CT.
COST: Dues-paid members w/ one guest: $40 per person.
All others: $50 per person.
Patrons: $125 which includes two tickets. Patrons will be
acknowledged.
Please consider making an additional donation toward the Club’s summer internship program. This summer we expect to provide funds to sponsor six-week paid internships to four local Yale College undergrads at local non-profit organizations. The Club will receive a $1,000 challenge match if members contribute an additional $3,000 by June 15.

Dean Marvin Chun is the Richard M. Colgate Professor of Psychology, with secondary appointments in the Cognitive Science Program and the Yale School of Medicine Department of Neuroscience. Dean Chun, who holds a doctorate in brain and cognitive sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, leads a cognitive neuroscience laboratory that uses functional brain imaging to study how people see, attend, remember, and perform optimally. His research has been honored with several early-mid career awards, such as the Troland Research Award from the United States National Academy of Sciences, and the American Psychological Association Distinguished Scientific Award for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology. His teaching of Introduction to Psychology, one of the largest courses in Yale College, has been recognized with both the Phi Beta Kappa William Clyde DeVane Medal for Distinguished Scholarship and Teaching in Yale College, and the Lex Hixon ‘63 Prize for Teaching Excellence in the Social Sciences. He served as the John B. Madden Head of Berkeley College from 2007 to 2016.
