Come join the Yale Club of Hartford on Saturday, May 12 and help with cleaning the historic Heublein Tower in Simsbury, CT in preparation for its opening day later in May. The Tower has been closed since the fall, and the Friends of Heublein Tower need our help with cleaning and setting up the historic rooms. Activities will include restoring each room with fixtures and furniture, dusting, and vacuuming. In addition, we will help clean windows including those on the top floors of the tower. Since the tower is owned by the State of Connecticut, we will also help state workers with clearing the outdoor grounds, minor landscaping, and garage organization. We will also assist with setting up the gift shop at the base of the tower.
Most of us will hike the 20 minute, 1.25 mile trail to the Tower from the parking lot on Summit Ridge Drive off of Route 185/Simsbury Road. Others who require an easier route may drive on an access road that will be open for us.
Our volunteer project will last from 9:00-12:30. Please register using the link on the AYA website at https://yaledayofservice.org. Please come and join us!
