Yale Day of Service 2019 - Outdoor Cleanup and Beautification of the Parker Memorial Community Center and Brackett Park

  • Parker Memorial Community Center and Brackett Park 2621 Main Street Hartford, CT, 06120 United States (map)

The Yale Club of Hartford is excited to partner with Hartford area residents, churches, community organizations and the City of Hartford for an outdoor cleanup and beautification project at Parker Memorial Community Center (PMCC) and Brackett Park in the North End of Hartford. This "Diamond in the Rough", in the heart of the North Hartford Promise Zone, needs some landscaping and cleanup to help make it shine and welcome the community that it serves.

The U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently designated PMCC as an Envision Center, and PMCC will be expanding from a recreation center to a hub for resources and referral to services that will meet the needs of the community.  It is currently in the midst of that transformation process.

Families, youth groups, churches, and community organizations are invited to participate alongside Yale-affiliated volunteers. This will be a fun-filled Yale Day of Service in partnership with and for the Hartford community, making a huge difference at Parker Memorial Community Center and Brackett Park.  Come join us!
