Wednesday, July 17th - Latanya Farrell, Rhythm and Blues!
Yale Club of Hartford Concert and Picnic Dinner at Elizabeth Park
"Latanya Farrell Queen of Summer's Outdoor Concerts"
Meet us on the Rose Garden Lawn. Bring a comfortable chair and a picnic dinner (or get something to eat from the Dog House, the outdoor concession adjacent to the Pond House Café). Enjoy the camaraderie of Yale alums, family, and friends. Lose yourself in the music – and maybe even dance a little!
Latanya Farrell will perform from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. – but come early! While not quite the lawn at Tanglewood, the popularity of Elizabeth Park Conservancy’s concerts grows every year. Both parking and lawn space are in high demand! We’ll be along the northeast perimeter of the Rose Garden, southeast of the Concert Stage. Look for the blue balloons. Go to http://www.elizabethparkct.org/downloads/Elizabeth_Park%20grounds_map.pdf for a map of Elizabeth Park that depicts the Concert Stage and Rose Garden as well as Park entrances and parking. Overflow parking is at the University of Saint Joseph.
Mother Nature had different plans for our first concert and picnic dinner last month. The heavens opened and the rain came down, moving the concert indoors in the Pond House, which, unfortunately, makes it impossible to gather together. As we send this e-mail, the weather forecast for July 17th is uncertain. Lesson learned: go to http://elizabethparkct.org/ to confirm if the concert will be on the Rose Garden Lawn.
Mark your calendars for our final concert and picnic dinner of the season: Wednesday, August 7th – Songs of Sinatra.
