Wednesday, August 7th - Songs of Sinatra
When we selected Lovin' Spoonful lyrics as the tagline for our concert and picnic dinner series (see above left corner), who would have thought that "hot town, summer in the city" was exactly what Mother Nature had in mind this summer?! The heavens opened June 26th for our first concert. July 17th, our second concert, found us in the middle of a heat wave. But the third time is a charm! Join us Wednesday, August 7th for the third and final Yale Club of Hartford Concert and Picnic Dinner at Elizabeth Park - Songs of Sinatra.
Meet us on the Rose Garden Lawn. Bring a comfortable chair and a picnic dinner (or get something to eat from the Dog House, the outdoor concession adjacent to the Pond House Café). Enjoy the camaraderie of Yale alums, family, and friends. Lose yourself in the music – and maybe even dance a little! Songs of Sinatra – 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Come early – both parking and lawn space are in high demand! We’ll be along the northeast perimeter of the Rose Garden, southeast of the Concert Stage. Look for the blue balloons. Go to http://www.elizabethparkct.org/downloads/Elizabeth_Park%20grounds_map.pdf for a map of Elizabeth Park that depicts the Concert Stage and Rose Garden as well as Park entrances and parking. Overflow parking is at the University of Saint Joseph. If the weather looks threatening, go to http://elizabethparkct.org/ to confirm whether the concert will be on the Rose Garden Lawn or moved inside to the Pond House Banquet Hall (in which case we will not gather).
